Hanahan is a medium-sized city in Berkeley County, South Carolina. It has five neighborhoods and is the 23rd largest community in the state. Hanahan is often considered a bedroom community to nearby cities like Charleston. It is located in the south end of Berkeley County and is part of the Charleston-North Charleston-Summerville metropolitan area. It is a perfect community for young couples, growing families and retirees learning to relax and unwind. The city is home to the Otranto Plantation which appears on the National Register of Historic Places.
